Mumbai: PVR to open new multiplex at Jio World Drive on Friday

With the reopening of cinema halls in Maharashtra, Multiplex Chain PVR Announced the launch of its new theater PVR Maison in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The six-screen multiplex will open on October 22, the same day all cinema halls in the state will reopen after being closed for months due to the second wave of COVID-19.

Ajay Bijli, Chairman and Managing Director, PVR Ltd. said that the team is thrilled to launch the new property after facing the exhibition area after “unprecedented times”.

“Innovation and improvement is in the DNA of our business which resonates through every one of our offerings. It is a proud moment for us to present our unique concept to the audience after an unprecedented time.”

Bijli said, “PVR Maison is inspired by French origins and was born out of the quest to explore deeper and newer aspects of luxury. It had a global creative team that deeply delved into each and every aspect to bring out the best for our India patrons. was working fine.”

Despite the fact that the impact of the pandemic will remain, Bijli said the team hopes this year will bring back theatre-going audience.

He added, “We can assure that PVR Maison will be a delightful experience for patrons. We are delighted to welcome our patrons to the prime market of Mumbai, which is the hub of the Hindi film industry and the state of Maharashtra.”

The company said in a statement that it will work with 100% immunized employees. The company said that it will follow all the Covid-19 safety protocols issued by the Maharashtra government.

All theaters in the state have been allowed to operate at 50% capacity.

PVR had already reopened its cinemas on July 30, posting a second wave across India with restrictions in seating capacity and hours of operation in permitted states and union territories.

Located at Jio World Drive in the suburban Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the new property will feature two new luxe screens and a viewing room for private screenings, PVR said in a press release.

The luxury boutique property, which has a seating capacity of 882 spectators, features lounge, library with art, lavish living rooms and open kitchen with premium dining concepts.

With the opening of the new property, the total screen count of PVR Cinemas stands at 157 screens across 38 properties in Maharashtra.
