Mumbai University UG admissions to start soon, CISCE, CBSE results unlikely to wait

Mumbai University has decided to start undergraduate admissions without waiting central board for secondary education (CBSE) and Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Declaration of class 12 result. Mumbai University on Monday issued a circular asking all colleges to follow the admission process. The form filling process will end on June 25 and the first merit list will be declared on June 29.

The decision came after the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education declared the class 12 (HSC) results last week. The circular issued by the university states, “All colleges must strictly follow the admission process. All colleges including autonomous institutions will have to admit students as per the sanctioned admission. Colleges may get permission from the university for additional seats for admission CBSE And in due time as per ISC Board Students College Merit Cut-Off. ,

This has created an anxiety and fear in the minds of CBSE, ISC students who are still waiting for class 12th results. They are afraid of losing their chance to get admission as the university may fill all the seats before their results are out. An official source, explaining the matter on condition of anonymity, told a leading news daily that delaying the admission process will reduce academic time for students.

The college authorities are also worried and feel that after the release of CBSE and ISC results, it will create chaos in the institutions. As the colleges are allowed to increase the number of seats for these board students but the process to do so has not been announced by the university.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has already declared the HSC results on June 8. 94.22 percent students passed the exam, Konkan division has recorded the highest pass percentage of 99.27 percent while Nashik division has recorded the lowest pass percentage of 95.9 percent.
