Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Monica Bhadauria claims that women are not given respect on the sets of TMKOC.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Now, in a fresh interview with News18 Shosha, Monika Bhadauria who used to play the role of Bawri in the popular sitcom has made several shocking allegations against TMKOC producer Asit Kumar Modi.
Monica revealed that there would be “a lot of fights” with Asit Modi’s co-star Munmun Dutta as well. Munmun was missing from the show for a few months last year.
“Munmun hasn’t left the show but she must be harassed and hence she might not have come on the sets for a long time,” Monica told us. They call back and try to make things better. There have been a lot of fights with her (Munmun Dutta) as well. She has left the set several times even after arguments. She did not come on the set for several days.
Monica further alleged that women are not respected on the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and said, “They don’t give importance to women. If a female actress’s shoot is over, they ask her to stop. They try to finish shooting the male actor first. Whatever happens, they don’t give importance to women there.”
Monica further claimed that female actors are not paid equal pay in TMKOC despite having equal screen time as their male counterparts. “The men are paid more. They pay us much less than the male actors, even though the screen time is the same for both the actors. They misbehave with the women out there. What more can you expect?” I can never tell you what they say. I could never use such foul language.”
The actress concluded by saying that Asit Kumar Modi has been ‘misguided’ by his team and hence he ‘misbehaves’ with people on his show. “Asit Modi’s team has been changed. His new team misleads him. He doesn’t know the whole thing. That’s why he hears something and understands something and then misbehaves with people. He talks very badly with everyone,” she told us.
