Muslims can’t tolerate desecration of mosque, panel to look into place of worship act: AIMPLB on Gyanvapi

All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has reacted sharply to the ongoing Gyanvapi Masjid case in Varanasi, saying that the forces spreading hatred are spreading false propaganda and targeting Muslim holy places in full force.

AIMPLB called an online emergency meeting on Tuesday night.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the AIMPLB said: “An emergency online meeting of the Working Committee of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board was convened last night to discuss the attitude of the communal forces. Gyanvapi Mosque and various mosques and holy places for Muslims. These issues were discussed in detail.”

It added that the members felt that on the one hand, “the forces spreading hatred were falsely promoting and targeting”. Muslim holy place With full force, while on the other hand the central government and the state governments, which are responsible for implementing the constitution and the law, the political parties which call themselves secular and just are also silent on this issue. They are not coming out against this false propaganda the way they should. Their position needs to be clarified.”

The statement further said: “We hope that he will make his position clear and also stand up for the defense of the Constitution and the secular character of the country, a clear and loud voice will be raised by him. The Board is aware that The courts are also disappointing the minorities and the oppressed.It is encouraging the communal forces taking the path of anarchy. Gyanvapi Started in court three years ago. The stay order of the High Court was ignored. It is extremely disappointing and disturbing to see Gyanvapi being sued repeatedly and then issuing such orders by the courts.”

AIMPLB further said that the Board has constituted a legal committee to look into the 1991 Act on the decision with respect to places of worship and Babri Masjid and to present the matter effectively.

The members of the committee are Yusuf Hatim Machla, M. Arshamshad, Fazil Ahmed Ayubi, Tahir Hakim, Niaz Farooqui, Dr. Qasim Rasool Ilyas and Kamal Farooqui.

Legal committee constituted by AIMPLB to review all matters related Mosque and take appropriate legal action. The AIMPLB statement said: “It was decided in the meeting that a peaceful mass movement can be started if necessary. Taking brothers of other minorities into confidence will raise public opinion on the shared responsibility of respect and protection of religious places and holy places.

The meeting called upon the government to clarify its position on the 1991 Act on Places of Worship. However, the government’s silence on such incidents is a criminal act, which cannot be accepted in any way.

The meeting urged preachers and scholars to address issues of importance in Friday’s sermons, the sanctity of a mosque in Sharia, and the security of mosques, over the next three weeks.

AIMPLB has also appealed to the Muslims to be patient, persevere and present their case to the people without any provocation.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati had alleged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) And its allies were diverting people’s attention by targeting religious places to divert attention from major issues like inflation, poverty and unemployment.

The BSP chief also warned that such an attempt could only worsen the situation.
