‘My WhatsApp number…’: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann announces to launch anti-corruption helpline from March 23 India News – Times of India

new Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mannu on Thursday announced its government’s decision to launch a Anti Corruption Helpline Number On Martyr’s Day, 23 March. Corruption-free Punjab was one of the major election promises of the Aam Aadmi Party.
The chief minister also announced that the anti-corruption helpline would be his personal WhatsApp number.
“If anyone asks you for a bribe, please make a video or audio record of it and send it to me. We will take strict action against the corrupt. There will be no corruption in Punjab,” the chief minister tweeted.
Earlier today Mann had said that he would make an important announcement.
AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal welcomed the Punjab CM’s announcement and called it an important step in the party’s fight against corruption.
Kejriwal urged the people of Punjab, “When someone asks you for a bribe, say no. Instead record the conversation and send the video/audio to the WhatsApp number. We assure you that strict action will be taken immediately.”
Kejriwal asked the officers of Punjab to work honestly and serve the people of the state.
‘Work to make our state a real Punjab, not London or Paris’
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday urged the officials to turn the state into a race ahead.
Addressing his first meeting after taking oath, Mann urged top officials of the civil and police administration of the state to discharge their duties as public servants in letter and spirit.
Citing the example of the Indian cricket team, the newly-elected Chief Minister said, “Win or lose matches but it is the team spirit that matters. Our main concern should be to make our state a real Punjab and not London, California or Paris.”
The AAP leader said his government would not indulge in political vendetta and asked the entire state administration to discharge their duties fearlessly without any political pressure, which unlike the earlier regime, was extremely important to fulfill the aspirations of the Punjabis. With dedication, honesty and integrity. You came to power with an unprecedented decision.
Attacking the previous governments in the state, Mann said, “I don’t keep red diary like earlier political parties and keep only green diary so you don’t need to worry about any retaliation.”
