Mysterious Sea Creature Dubbed “Forbidden Churro” Baffles The Internet

The photo was posted on Reddit last week.

A mysterious sea creature has sparked a debate on the social media platform Reddit. A tall, slender, brown animal was found by a man on a beach in Ireland.

A photo of the washed up creature was posted to Reddit last week by the person who found it. “Can someone help me identify this sea creature? Just found it washed up on a beach in Ireland,” he said in his post.

Soon, reactions to the post started pouring in from people willing to offer advice.

“Needle fish, there was a needle fish. Those things smell like they all passed out when they were alive,” said one Redditor.

Although some of the reactions were laughable, one Redditor joked that it was a “forbidden churro.” He was comparing the creature to a long, deep-fried snack because of its long, fried body.

One said it could be the “Gowalds”, a race of sentient parasitic creatures from the sci-fi series Stargate SG-1. Another called it “Jörmungdr”, a sea serpent in Norse mythology popularized by the ‘God of War’ franchise.

Some users suggested that it may not be a creature, but rather a part of it resembling a “tail of a sea scorpion”.

“I wonder if it wasn’t linked to a sting ray,” commented one user.

Meanwhile, the person who first found the strange creature accepted a response from a Redditor who said it could be “more pipefish (Sygnathus acus)”.

“You’re right! Just looked at it and it looks similar. Thanks for your help. I don’t know much about marine biology and really appreciate it,” said the person who originally posted the photo. Posted from

According to Encyclopdia Britannica, pipefish belong to a subspecies of small fish that are closely related to both seahorses and sea dragons.
