Mysuru: Five persons including the Deputy Tehsildar of Gubbi and a second class assistant nada kacheri In Chelur Hobli of Gubbi taluk of Tumakuru, arrested for making fake land records for gomala (grazing) land.
Official sources said that fake records were created to show 450 acres of government Gomala land in the name of 137 persons.
Gubbi police arrested Deputy Tehsildar Chetan, second class assistant Satisho Kumar GHStaff Rajeshand broker Karianna and Raju Based on BM’s complaint sasikalaGrade-2 Tehsildar.
Sasikala said that last week, when they were perusing handwritten land records between 1995 and 2000, they found that some government Gomala lands show private individuals as owners. The names of private persons were also shown as owners in the registers of distribution, acceptance and conversion of 1972-73.
It was found that in order to grab hundreds of acres of government land, corrupt officials created fake land records, tampered with existing records and forged signatures of the officials concerned.
