“Mysore shares its border with Kerala and we have identified check-posts on the border. We have also appointed nodal officers at the checkposts. The DC further said that the check-posts would have to function 24 x 7 and the nodal officers of Mysuru would have to coordinate with the border district officials. The names and other details of the officers appointed in the border district are to be shared with the Mysuru district administration, police and excise officials for coordination.

Seeking all possible support and cooperation to conduct peaceful elections, the Deputy Commissioner said that strict action will have to be taken in case of violation of model code of conduct and illegal activities. The officers posted at the check posts have to work with full vigilance, carefully and responsibly. “They (officials) should work impartially, so we expect all possible cooperation from the officials in Wayanad during the elections,” Rajender said during the meeting.
