New Delhi: As a 23-year-old youth, N Chandrasekharnifirst flight of Air India Like most contemporary Indians of that time in 1986. Now, 36 years later, Chandra (as he is known) is the chairman of Tata Sons to head the group that owns the airline.
In a “Welcome Back” message to AI employees after the airline was acquired, he said: “I, like many others, have enjoyed reflecting on the stories of the airline’s glorious past. My first flight was Air in December 1986. I was with India, and I will never forget how special it was to be on the ship, or the excitement we had when we took to the skies. Such memories are wonderful, but now is the time to look ahead.”

“Today is the beginning of a new chapter. The eyes of the entire nation are on us to see what we will achieve together. We need to look to the future to build the airline our country needs.” I am writing this letter on behalf of Tata GroupTo welcome you to our family,” he said.

“Our group has a history of its own. I have learned that continual change is needed to preserve what is best about the past. It is only by developing, adapting and embracing the future that we make the best of a glorious history. Respected. I am sure that the golden era of Air India is ahead. Our journey for this begins now. Welcome. And welcome back.”
He said that the only word on everyone’s tongue is Ghar Wapsi. We are proud to welcome Air India back to the Tata family after so many years.
