Nagarjuna calls his alleged ‘statements’ on Naga Chaitanya-Samantha Ruth Prabhu divorce ‘nonsense’

Just when it looked like the dust had settled on the Naga Chaitanya-Samantha Ruth Prabhu divorce, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna had to go public on Thursday (January 27) to clear his stand on the matter. In recent media reports, Nagarjuna was quoted as saying that it was Samantha who pushed for divorce and not Naga Chaitanya, who is the superstar’s son. Several Telugu publications even claimed that Nagarjuna had discussed the issue with them.

The reports are said to have upset both Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, prompting Nagarjuna to express his displeasure to the media.

Urging the media to stop spreading “rumours”, Nagarjuna said: “The news quoting my statement about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya in social media and electronic media is completely false and completely nonsense! I Request media friends to kindly refrain from posting rumours as news.”

He ended his message with the hashtag: “#GiveNewsNotRumours.”

The day the couple announced their separation, Nagarjuna reacted on social media. He wrote, “With a heavy heart, I say this! Whatever happened between Sam and Chai is very unfortunate. What happens between a wife and a husband is very personal. I love Sam and Chai. My family will always cherish those moments. Spent with Sam and she will always be dear to us! May God give strength to both of them.”

Earlier, Naga Chaitanya also spoke about his split with Samantha during a press meet for his recent release Bangaraju. Naga Chaitanya said, “It is okay to separate. It is a mutual decision made for his personal happiness. If he is happy, then I am happy. So divorce is the best decision in such a situation.”

Earlier there have been speculations about the real reason behind Samantha and Naga Chaitanya. One of the theories claimed that the Akkineni family objected to Samantha’s bold scenes in The Family Man 2 and was against her decision to do dance numbers in the films. Samantha’s U Antwa song in Pushpa: The Rise has become a smash hit.

For those unaware, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their divorce on October 2, 2021, on their respective social media handles. But recently Samantha deleted the post from her Instagram page, sparking speculation about their reunion.
