Johannes Ndara, a 19-year-old boy, has been hailed as a hero for saving his 9-year-old sister Regimia Hiekera from a crocodile attack. It was not an easy task for the young lad, as the crocodile brutally injured his sister’s ribs, inner thigh and left side of the torso. This news has come out from Kavango West Namibia in Daily Star Publication.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Johannes recounted how he fought off a fight with the ferocious animal and managed to save his sister. “We had earlier gone to plow our crop fields,” he said. Also decided to bring some water, which would help them cook the vegetables.

They started walking downstairs to fill the bucket. It was at that particular moment that Johannes realized that his sister was left behind and was crying. Horrified, he turned and saw a most bone-chilling sight. His sister was captured by a giant crocodile.

Without losing a moment, he jumped into the river and grabbed the crocodile with his jaws, exerting all his might. Luckily, he was able to free her from the jaws of death. After this heart-wrenching incident, they returned to the river bank and cried holding each other.

Regimia was immediately taken to Bunya Health Center before being transferred to Randu Intermediate Hospital. He is being treated in this hospital for the injured. As per reports, he is now in a stable condition.

The heart-wrenching incident has prompted authorities to issue warnings about the dangers of crocodiles. These animals kill an estimated 1,000 people each year around the world. Chief warden Richard Angura told Namibian news outlet New Era that people should beware of crocodiles when standing on the banks of the river.
