National Technology Day: PM Modi launches projects worth Rs 5,800 crore

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated an event marking the National Technology Day 2023. The event also marked the commencement of the 25th year celebration of National Technology Day to be held from May 11 to May 14.

PM lays foundation stones and dedicates to the nation several projects related to scientific and technological advancement in the country 5,800 crores. These projects are aimed at strengthening scientific institutions in the country in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant India.

The projects include Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory – India (LIGO-India), Hingoli; Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Jatni, Odisha; and Platinum Jubilee Block of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

PM Modi dedicated the following projects to the nation: Fission Molybdenum-99 Production Facility, Mumbai; Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Plant, Visakhapatnam; National Hadron Beam Therapy Facility, Navi Mumbai; Radiological Research Unit, Navi Mumbai; Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Visakhapatnam; and Women and Children Cancer Hospital Bhawan, Navi Mumbai.

During the event, PM Modi inaugurated and took a walk-through of an exhibition showcasing the scientific and technological advancements made in India in the recent past. He also released a commemorative postage stamp and coin on the occasion.
