National Testing Agency confirms no change in subsequent syllabus of NCERT

Aspirants of undergraduate entrance exams were unsure about how the rationalization of NCERT text books is going to affect the entrance exam.

NTA confirms that the syllabus for CUET UG exam remains unaffected despite the recent amendments in NCERT text books.

CUET-UG has the potential to be a game changer for both the students and the affiliated colleges. More than 200 universities including 47 central institutes and a large number of state, private and deemed universities have decided to participate in the CUET exam in 2023. A total of 90 universities participated in the CUET Exam (2022). , The 200+ participant limit of the exam is estimated for the 2023 edition.

In terms of applicants, CUET-UG is the second largest entrance test in the country. Around 12.50 lakh students registered and out of them 9.9 lakh submitted applications in the first round of CUET-UG.

Aspirants of undergraduate entrance exams were unsure about how the rationalization of NCERT text books is going to affect the entrance exam. “The notified syllabus will remain the same as the exam is not only for the students of any particular board. Not all boards have rationalized the material,” a senior National Testing Agency (NTA) official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

The National Testing Agency has confirmed that the syllabus for the CUET UG exam remains unaffected despite the recent revisions in the NCERT text books and rationalization of syllabus for students in classes 10, 11, and 12. Senior officials of NTA have said that students are not required to do so. Concerned about the most recent NCERT syllabus changes.

This year, as per the official NTA exam calendar, CUET UG 2023 exam is scheduled to be conducted from May 21 to May 31, 2023. From today, April 9, 2023, NTA has reopened the CUET UG registration portal.

Applications for the CUET 2023 exam were accepted till April 11, 2023. The dates for CUET UG 2023 have been listed in the exam schedule made public. On April 3, 2023, The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) decided to make changes in the NCERT textbooks for classes 10, 11 and 12.

As per the revision, the syllabus no longer includes chapters on Mughal Empire, Gujarat Riots, Cold War and other topics from the syllabus.

NTA had earlier conducted JEE Mains exam on April 6 and 8, 2023. The above examinations will be conducted on 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 15th April of 2023. Apart from these exams, NTA will also conduct NEET 2023 exam on May 7, 2023.
