Congress MP Gurjit Singh Aujla on Sunday said the party’s chief in Punjab Navjot Singh Sidhu has not been among the people in the last five years and his use of sharp words against leaders has upset the people, leading to his victory in the assembly. Possibility may be affected. Election.

Mr Sidhu, who has been outspoken on several issues in the state including drugs and sacrilege incidents, has used derogatory language in public forums, Mr Aujla said.

“Sidhu is a big leader. A lot of people watch him and follow him. He should not use offensive language against leaders including opposition parties. A big leader should be disciplined in his speech as he has to lead the state and the country,” Mr. Aujla said.

He said that despite Sidhu himself being a star campaigner, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had to campaign in order to campaign in his assembly seat.

Amritsar (East) is witnessing a crucial battle where Mr Sidhu will take on former state minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, brother-in-law of Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded Jeevan Jyot Kaur from this seat.
