The application process for women lasted from September 24 to October 8.
Following the Supreme Court’s direction to the Centre, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the National Defense Academy (NDA 2021) from women candidates this year. The application process was completed recently. In August 2021, the apex court, in a landmark order, asked women to be included in the candidates to take the NDA exam. The application process for this lasted from 24 September to 8 October.
The application process for male candidates was completed between June 9 and June 29.
As per the notification released by UPSC, the NDA exam is to be held on November 14. The application process for women is also over, but the criteria for physical fitness and other essential qualifications for female candidates are yet to be announced.
The commission has not announced the number of seats and eligibility criteria for female candidates and this has led many to speculate that NDA Exam 2021 may get postponed.
As per the sources, the exam is already behind its scheduled time and UPSC will not postpone the exam. It is anticipated that the commission will soon announce all the prescribed parameters for women to avoid postponing the dates as many exams have already been delayed due to the COVID-19 situation across the country.
