Need to rewrite the history of our nation and free it from prejudices, distortions: Haryana Chief Minister

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said there is a need to “rewrite the history of our country and free it from the prejudices and distortions of Western historians”. “We had a glorious past and this needs to be truly taught to our younger generation,” he said.

Many efforts in the last 70 years could not free India’s education policy from the education system of Lord Macaulay to national education. education Policy 2020 which has the soul of the country’s culture and tradition, he said.

He said that human resources and citizens play an important role in the progress of the nation. “Many efforts were made in the last 70 years to formulate a new education policy, but it could not be freed from Macaulay’s education policy. The National Education Policy 2020, which is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has the soul of Indian culture and tradition. Khattar said while initiating the implementation of the National Education Policy at Kurukshetra University here.

Congratulating the University for truly implementing the NEP as per the UGC guidelines from the 2022 session, he further said that the NEP lays the foundation for a “New India” as it is based on a holistic approach. “It covers important aspects like holistic, multidisciplinary and futuristic education, quality research and use of online technology for better access to education. The NEP will certainly pave the way for making India Vishwaguru is once again leading the world towards peace, lasting prosperity and brotherhood,” he said.

He further said, “We need to rewrite the history of our country and free it from the prejudices and distortions of Western historians”. “We had a glorious past and this needs to be truly taught to our younger generation,” he said.

He said that NEP 2020 mainly focuses on production of quality human resource with modern outlook and firm belief in Indian cultural and ethical values. “NEP has the soul of Indian culture and tradition.” KU Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva said that the institute is the first university in the state to have implemented NEP with a defined structure template and detailed curriculum in its undergraduate programs in its campus colleges.

He said that though Haryana Government has set a target of NEP implementation for 2025, KU has implemented it in this session.
