Neeraj Chopra is set to shift his training base from Turkey to Finland on Thursday to train at Finland’s Kuorten Olympic Training Center by June 22.

Finland will host the Pavo Nurmi Games, where Chopra will play against Johannes Vetter on June 14. The 24-year-old Indian is currently training at the Gloria Sports Arena in Turkey.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) said, “The four-week training camp has been approved by the government’s Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and will cost around Rs 9.8 lakh to the Sports Ministry.”

“From Kuortane, Neeraj Pavo will travel to Turku to participate in the Nurmi Games, followed by the Kuortane Games in Stockholm, and then the Diamond League,” SAI said in a release.

“The finances will be used to meet the expenses of Niraj and his coach Klaus Bartonitz for travel, accommodation, training, local travel, and daily out-of-pocket allowances among other expenses.”

Neeraj, who has clocked a personal best of 88.07m and won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 87.58m, will take the field for the first time in 10 months when he takes part in the Pavo Nurmi Games, the biggest sporting event in the world. is one of. His next event will be on June 18 at the Kuorten Games in Finland, where he finished third last year.
