NEET 2022 fraud scam: CBI busts racket; 8 arrested including mastermind

As per the preliminary investigation by the CBI, an exam solver gang tried to help the students in NEET 2022, the medical entrance exam held on July 17. NEET 2022 has been in controversy for several reasons, including the allegation of exchanging question papers and asking women candidates to remove their innerwear in the name of search.

In many centers, including Delhi and Haryana, candidates paid hefty sums to exam solver gangs to impersonate students and take the exams on their behalf. The CBI has alleged that the accused collected user IDs and passwords of candidates, who made necessary modifications for allotment of desired examination centres.

“They also use the process of mixing and morphing of photographs to facilitate the use of proxy candidates for appearing in the examination,” the FIR alleged.

In the latest move, the CBI has arrested eight people including the suspected mastermind and paper solver. Investigations reveal that the exam solver gang impersonated the candidates to help them crack NEET and get admission in undergraduate medical courses, including AIIMS.

Officials said the CBI arrested the masterminds Sushil Ranjan and Nidhi outside the Havelock Square examination centre, New Delhi, while Krishna Shankar Yogi and Sunny Ranjan were nabbed at an examination center in Faridabad Sector-8.

They said that Jeep Lal was nabbed from Kundan Colony Ballabgarh Center and Raghunandan from Senior Secondary School, Patparganj, New Delhi, Bharat Singh from Safdarjung Hospital hostel and Saurabh from the center at Government Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Shakurpur, New Delhi. .
