NEET answer key, result release date: When will NTA announce the update? What will be the passing marks?

More than 18 lakh students are waiting for the result of the exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), The medical entrance exam was conducted on July 17, however, a month after conducting the biggest entrance exam, the exam conducting body National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced any updates thereafter. Usually, the NEET results are declared after one and a half month of conducting the exam, however, it is unlikely that NTA will follow this trend this year as before the result, NTA releases the preliminary and then the main answer keys.

Although there is no official announcement from NTA on NEET result, it is reported that the answer key for NEET may be released on August 21. There were speculations earlier as well, however, NTA has not yet given any official confirmation on this. Once released, the answer key for NEET will be available at neet.nta.nic.in or nta.ac.in.

This year, the number of students attempting NEET has increased as a total 18,72,329 candidates had registered For the exam in which 95 percent appeared. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has busted a gang of exam solvers as they were trying to appear for the medical entrance exam – NEET 2022 on behalf of students. While an FIR has been registered against 11 people, eight have been arrested so far; The connections of many others are being investigated.

With the increase in the number of applicants, the qualifying marks required to clear NEET 2022 is expected to increase. Students get percentile score for NEET. This is a relative construction. Experts believe that candidates have to score 150 marks to get passing marks of 50 percentile.

Last year, the NEET qualifying marks for general category candidates ranged from 138 to 720, while for OBC, SC and ST categories it ranged from 108 to 137. However, it was less than 147 in 2020 and 134 in 2019.

The cut-off for SC, ST candidates is 40 percentile while for PH candidates it is 45 percentile.

The cut-off score depends on several factors, including the number of students who appeared for the exam, the total number of seats available, and the difficulty level of the exam.
