To calculate the marks, students must know the ranking system for medical admission. Four marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Students have to count the number of correct answers by four as per the answer key.

The percentile score is calculated by the formula – 100 multiplied by the number of candidates divided by the total number of candidates who appeared with the RAW score. More than 95% of the 16 lakh candidates who registered for the exam attempted it.

To pass NEET, candidates need to score at least 50 percentile but this is for unreserved category students. People belonging to reserved category like SC, ST have to secure 40 percentile and PWD candidates have to secure 45 percentile. The cut-off for the physically handicapped candidates of the reserved category is 40 percentile. To get admission, however, candidates must match the cut-off score.

in 2020, The cut-off score for the top colleges was 720-147 And in 2019 it was 701-134. This year, experts believe that for students from the unreserved category, the score could be between 715 – 130. The cut-off for OBC candidates may be 129-107 and for SC, ST candidates it may be around 129 – 100 and 104 to 98. For Ph students. For students belonging to general category, a score between 530-540 can help in getting admission in Tier-II colleges
