Varanasi: Varanasi Police on Thursday arrested Dr. Om Prakash Singh. NEET Admit cards, OMR sheets, checks of different amounts and other documents have also been recovered from the solver gang in Kakori area of ​​Lucknow and from them.
Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said, “A team of Crime Branch formed to nab the members of NEET solver gang succeeded in nabbing Dr Om Prakash Singh, a resident of Amrapali Yojna, Vasant Kunk in Kakori area of ​​Lucknow. Thakurganj and Kakori police had earlier sent him to jail for his involvement in cases related to admission fraud and job examination. He was wanted in several cases registered at Thakurganj and Kakori police stations in Lucknow and Sarnath police stations in Varanasi.
During interrogation, he confessed that he was in contact with Kanhaiyalal of Varanasi, his colleague Dr. Sharad SinghDr. Osama and Dr. Afroz for filling the form of NEET exam for many candidates. He also arranged solvers for the Patna based gang run by PK alias Nilesh. Vikas Kumar,
Varanasi Police had busted the solver gang during NEET (UG)-2021 in September 2021 and an FIR was registered in this regard at Sarnath police station. So far 14 people involved in the racket of NEET solvers gang have been arrested, while others are out of the police trap.
Recently, the district court of Varanasi had rejected the anticipatory bail applications of gang accused including Dr Afroz, Muntazir, Anshu alias Ashutosh, Divya Jyoti Nag and Mrityunjay.
According to the Commissioner of Police, the court issued a proclamation under 82 CrPC against the absconding accused. Police teams have been instructed to intensify efforts to arrest them.
The mastermind of the gang PK alias Nilesh along with his associate Ritesh was arrested on 18 November 2021 from near Ring Road flyover in Sarnath area. His gang was active in different states of the country for the last 5-6 years. He used to charge Rs 30 lakh to Rs 49 lakh from a NEET aspirant.
With the help of Ritesh, his brother-in-law and clerk in the Department of Culture and Youth Affairs at the Bihar government’s secretariat in Patna, he used to obtain the examination papers of various competitive examinations of the service commissions of UP, Uttarakhand. and Bihar. Ritesh’s sister Dr. Beloved, who completed MBBS from IGIGIMS, Patna in 2019, is also involved in the gang.
