Neetu Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar slam media for ‘invading privacy’ of Alia Bhatt

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]Feb 22 (ANI): Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Neetu Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor on Tuesday took to their Instagram handles to show solidarity with Alia Bhatt who has accused the paparazzi and media of ‘invasion of privacy’.

Aaliya has posted a collage of pictures taken inside the house without her consent. He wrote in the long note, “Are you kidding me? I was sitting in my living room on a completely normal afternoon in my house when I felt someone watching me…. I looked up and saw two guys with cameras on the roof of my neighborhood building! In what world is this okay and allowed?”

Tagging the Mumbai Police, he said, “This is an invasion of one’s privacy and it would be fair to say that all limits were crossed today! @mumbaipolice.”

In support of Alia, Anushka Sharma wrote on her Instagram story, ‘This is not the first time she is doing this. About two years ago we called him out for exactly this reason! You would think that this would have made them more respectful of people’s space and privacy. Absolutely embarrassing! He was also the only guy to post pictures of our daughter, despite repeated requests!

Karan Johar was also enraged at this incident. She posted on Instagram, “There is no justification for this despicable invasion of privacy!!!! Everyone from the entertainment industry is always there for the media and paparazzi and being friendly…but there has to be a limit…this It’s about one’s right to feel safe in their own homes! It’s not about actors or celebrities it’s a basic human right!!!”

Re-sharing the post on social media, Alia’s mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor wrote, “This is not fair!!!”

Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor was also very angry with this incident. In a long post, she wrote, “This is disgustingly intrusive. This publication has repeatedly said such things. Including photographing me unwittingly, despite my constant requests; Inside the gym, I walk through the glass doors while working out. In a place that is supposed to be private, where no one is expected to be photographed. I understand showing up to places and doing my work in person. Where there is a mutual understanding of the work of photographers and the work and needs of being a public figure. This is a far cry from surreptitiously zooming into someone’s private space without their consent or awareness and calling it exclusive like it’s a journalistic achievement.

After Alia posted about her displeasure in the evening, Arjun Kapoor and his sister Shaheen Bhatt were the first to show support for the ‘Raazi’ actor.

It is the ongoing tussle between celebs and paparazzi over intrusion into private space that has grabbed headlines in recent times. (ANI)
