Neetu Kapoor expresses her desire to work with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
Veteran actress Neetu Kapoor, who has been lauded for her performance in her comeback film “Jugjug Jiyo”, says she is working with her son and Bollywood superstar. Asked if she criticizes Ranbir and his daughter-in-law Alia’s work, Neetu told IANS: “I don’t look at Ranbir’s work as a mother but as an audience. So yes, I do. I am critical and I have my share in it. Honest feedback with him. But it is also true that my son is a really good actor, Ranbir has hardly had a bad performance so far. Even when he is silent (referring to ‘Barfi’) so she’s amazing, is she? And no, it’s not the mother speaking but a spectator.”
She further added, “I put this on Alia’s face that I really don’t know what the next milestone of her performance she will achieve after what she has given in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. I am sure she will.” , but for me it was Alia Bhatt’s best performance. So, as an audience, I am excited to know how she can break her benchmark of her performance as an actor!”
While the veteran actress is choosing work wisely, she mentioned how her interest lies more in working with good directors.
“It is important to collaborate with good directors, young minds, especially those who can challenge me to push my limits as an actress. I would not mind playing a mother on screen, But if it is written only with essence then it is affecting the story. And also, I can play any role as an actress, even a woman in uniform or an elderly The romantic story of the couple. The actress in me is looking for a challenge,” she said.
After the release of ‘Jugjug Jio’, Neetu is planning to take a break before getting ready for her next film.
“I am working on a film but the announcement is yet to come so I am sorry I can’t reveal much. I think we will start shooting for it in October. I have also agreed to do a web series which I am in the process of writing again, it is too early to share the details. I will be working on these two projects for now. But before that, I will take a break… I am slowly getting back to my grove,” shared the old heroine did.
When asked which actors of the younger generation she would like to work with and Neetu immediately replied, “If I get a chance to work with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, it will be a dream come true. Me. Revealing it! It’s a different matter that I have two kids, but a superstar too, isn’t it? (laughs)”
