Neha Dhupia on shooting ‘A Thursday’ during pregnancy: Worried that gunshots would disturb my baby

Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia is garnering praise for her intense role in Behzad Khambata’s latest film ‘A Thursday’, in which she plays a strong-headed pregnant cop who plays an intelligent playschool teacher, Naina Jaiswal (Yami Gautam). Trying to find out which one day 16 kids in a school hostage.

Interestingly, when Neha was finalized for the role of ACP Catherine Alvarez, she was not expecting a child but by the time the film started, she got pregnant with their son.

Neha told us, “Behzad immediately thought that I would be great for this part and I also immediately thought that I would like to work with this director so that the chemistry is good.” Bhumika, it all came down to the point when I was not pregnant when I was cast for the part and then after 7 months I met Behzad because it was a lockdown and we can’t shoot Well, it was the second wave and I was pregnant and I told her, ‘Behzad it is. what do you want to do?’ He didn’t even blink an eye.”

Neha appreciated Behzad and producer Ronnie Screwvala for their unflinching support. Neha said, “You need such changemakers. One is as women, as mothers, or as pregnant women, we want to go back to work and the other is going to create these opportunities, so I I tip my hat to everyone (Behzad and Ronnie).”

Talking about her apprehensions while filming action sequences during pregnancy, Neha said, “I would call my gynecologist and ask him, ‘Is gunshots going to bother my son? Didn’t know what I was doing at the time but I told him my baby was in my womb and he was like, ‘No, don’t worry. You can go ahead and do whatever you want.’ You also need a brave doctor to send you to work when you are eight months pregnant.”

Did he find anything surprising about himself as an actor after working on ‘A Thursday’? The actress said, “One thing that surprised me was that now when I go back on the sets nothing seems difficult. Initially shooting in the rain was difficult or felt uncomfortable. There are so many things that can happen. looks so pretty and glamorous but not like that but here i am the person who has passed call time at 7am so i wake up at 5am with morning sickness, from hunger pangs to fake contractions Or many other things that bothered me, or I used to like to shoot in the rain when I was 8 months pregnant. So now when I am on set and when I see little glitches or little things that bothers me, so now in my mind I feel like it was a great training ground, so it bothers me a lot less now.”

One Thursday, which also stars Dimple Kapadia, Atul Kulkarni and Maya Sarao in lead roles, is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
