NESTS, 1M1B Foundation sign MoU to train teachers and students of EMRSes

New Delhi: An MoU has been signed between National Education Society for Tribal Students (NETS), an autonomous organization set up under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and 1M1B Foundation (1M1B), the Ministry of Tribal Affairs said in a statement.

The program will skill teachers and students with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) using the AR-VR skill curriculum launched by CBSE.

The objectives of the program include conducting training and capacity building programs for teachers and students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSes). As part of the MoU, the program is being implemented in EMRSs of Rajasthan and Uttarakhand on a pilot basis.

“1 Million for 1 Billion (1M1B) is a Bengaluru based Not For Profit Company recognized by the United Nations with Special Consultative Status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications and NITI There is also a registered trusted organization with the NGO Darpan portal of the Aayog. It is a social innovation and future skilling initiative aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations,” the ministry said.

NESTS in partnership with 1M1B aims to enable teachers and students to understand the world of possibilities offered by emerging technologies and become makers using Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to build India’s Metaverse To involve the students of EMRSes in nation building.

In line with NEP 2020, it is believed that this collaboration will go a long way in providing immersive, visual and experiential learning to the students of EMRS which will enhance the human infrastructure resource for the nation.
