Netflix cancels Randall Park, Melissa Fumero’s ‘Blockbuster’

Netflix has shut down its latest comedy series Film After only one season.

The show, which made its debut in November, stars Randall Parks and Melissa Fumero. The 10-episode comedy was created by Vanessa Ramos, who also served as showrunner and executive producer.

According to time limitThe show had a quiet run after its launch and never made it to Netflix’s weekly Top 10.

Film Park starred as Timmy Yoon, an analog streamer who is in charge of the last operating Blockbuster Video in the United States. Timmy, along with the rest of his staff, must work to remind their community that the local store can provide human connections that large corporations cannot.

Fumero played Elijah Walker in the show, alongside Tyler Alvarez as Carlos Herrera, Hannah Hackman as Madeleine Arthur, and Connie Serrano as Olga Merediz.
