The Witcher Season 3 is a go. At an online-only Netflix TUDUM event on Saturday, The Witcher lead writer and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich announced that the Henry Cavill-led epic fantasy series will be returning for a third season. The official renewal announcement for The Witcher Season 3 comes nearly three months before the second season premieres December 17th on Netflix. Cavill will undoubtedly return in the lead role alongside the likes of Freya Allen and Anya Chalotra. Hissrich will continue on The Witcher Season 3 as lead writer and showrunner.
At the end of the three-hour TUDUM global fan event, Hissrich took to the stage to announce three new The Witcher projects. A second anime Witcher film is on the way, to follow last month’s The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. apart from this, Netflix is also developing a Witcher series for kids and family – very interested to see how they mold it to fit the Witcher universe in the G rating (and get rid of all the blood and gore). And as a last thing, Hissrich said The Witcher would return for Season 3.
