Dutch Prime Minister Mark Root said on Saturday that the Netherlands will go into “lockdown” over the Christmas period to try to stop the growth of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
“I stand here in a sad mood tonight. To sum it up in one sentence, the Netherlands will go back into lockdown from tomorrow,” Root told a televised press conference.
