The Hague: A record number of women are due to form the next Dutch government after the incoming coalition published its list of ministers and secretaries of state on Sunday.
An unprecedented 14 of the state’s 29 ministers and secretaries will be women, including 10 out of 20. The four-party alliance will be sworn in on January 10 after an agreement is reached in December – 271 days after the election in March – handing over to the PM Mark Rutte Fourth term in office.
Former finance minister and centre-right leader Wopke HoekstraKnown for his tough stance on spending, will become the Minister of External Affairs. former foreign minister sigrid cargo Will take his place in the treasury. Ernst Kuipers, who was responsible for moving coronavirus patients across the country, will replace Hugo De Jong as Minister of Health.
