Maruti Suzuki has released a new teaser video for the upcoming new generation Baleno, revealing the car’s newly designed LED taillamps for the first time. Other new features on offer will include new headlights, new LED DRLs and a heads-up display.

Maruti Suzuki India is all set to launch the new generation Baleno premium hatchback in India this month. Expected to launch on February 23, the bookings for the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno have already started for a token of Rs 11,000. While the teaser images released earlier gave us a glimpse of some of the updates the new Baleno is getting, the carmaker has now released a new teaser video, and this time, we get to see the redesigned LED taillamps of the car. See you. Compared to the current model, these new ones look much sharper and get a new LED light signature pattern.

The teaser video also reveals some of the elements that we have seen in earlier teasers or spy images. This includes a new front section that gets sharper LED headlamps and integrated turn indicators with a new signature pattern for LED daytime running lights. The new 2022 Baleno is also expected to come with a heavily updated cabin, possibly featuring a larger touchscreen infotainment system, updated instrument console, and overall, more upmarket fit and finish. Expect it to be part of the list of features like automatic headlamps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, auto climate control, and much more. However, what we do know for sure is that the cabin will come with a segment-first heads-up display (HUD) unit.

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno currently comes with a 1.2-litre VVT motor, and the more powerful 1.2-litre DualJet, Dual VVT engine, and they are expected to remain unchanged. The former gets the option of both a 5-speed manual and an automatic CVT unit, while the more powerful engine, which also gets a mild-hybrid system, comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, rumor has it that the new Baleno may get a 5-speed AGS (Auto Gear Shift) unit which will replace the CVT gearbox.
