New Mahindra Scorpio testing underway; Interior detailed in new images

The latest images of the cabin reveal that there are middle row captain seats, third row front and some additional equipment on board.

Mahindra has been testing the new Scorpio for some time now. The third-gen body-on-frame SUV is expected to debut later this year, with Mahindra continuing to test the car across the length and breadth of India. Now a recent set of images gives the clearest view of the SUV’s cabin, seating arrangement and some of the features packed. As seen in the previous images of the interior, the center console of the Scorpio is dominated by a large landscape-oriented touchscreen. The controls for dual-zone climate control and switches for drive modes, ESC and more are housed at the bottom.

Unlike the XUV700, Mahindra seems to have gone with a more traditional physical dial-based instrument cluster with a colorful central MID. The Central MID is capable of displaying a variety of information, including a tire pressure monitoring system, door ajar warnings for each individual door, seat belt reminders, and front tire angle warnings (if not pointing straight ahead at tire start time). done) engine) and much more. There is also a wireless phone charger at the base of the center console.

The middle row captain seats in the new Scorpio will be found in the front facing third row.

Meanwhile the seats are upholstered in black and brown leather while the second row has individual captain seats. A bench seat option is also expected to be offered. Those in the middle row get a separate blower control thanks to the rear air-con vents located behind the center-console armrests.

Apart from the features mentioned above, the new Scoprio is set to be equipped with a 360-degree camera, cruise control, keyless go and more.

Coming to the engine line-up, the Scorpio is expected to be available with Mahindra’s new 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines that will also do the duty in the Thar and XUV700. Both the engines are expected to be offered with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options, with the diesel also getting four-wheel drive.
