A new village drama from Suriya’s production house and Malayalam actor Jayasur’s 100th film are the main attractions on stage this week.
Coming to Prime this week, September 24th Rame Andalum Raavane Andalum (rare), which is the first title in a collaboration with 2D Entertainment announced recently by Amazon Prime Video. The film is a social satire set around a village and its contrasts offer a heady mix of humor and drama, full of human choices. The story is based on Kunnimuthu, a 35-year-old farmer and his wife Veerai, who lose their bullocks, Karuppan and Vellaiyan, who were almost like the couple’s children. Out of despair, Kunnimuthu sets out in search of the missing cattle. What happens is a quest with many twists and turns.

Directed by Arisil Murthy, the film’s cast includes Ramya Pandian, Vaani Bhojan, Mithun Manickam and Kodangi Vadivel Murugan, and is produced by Suriya and co-produced by Rajasekar Karpoorsundrapandian.
To mark Jayasuriya’s 100th film, Malayalam film sunny Focuses on the life of a musician whose passion is slowly fading and his life is disintegrating around him. In dire need of inspiration, the film follows the journey of a man who is struggling to fall in love with his calling and more than that, his life. The film, which is scheduled to premiere on September 23, is written and directed by Ranjit Shankar, and produced by the actor-director duo under the banner Dreams N Beyond.

Rame Andalum Raavane Andalum (Tamil) – September 24
The film is based on a village that has breaking news on all television channels in India, but in an ironic situation, its residents do not have electricity to watch TV. The story revolves around Kunnimuthu, a 35-year-old, simple farmer and his wife Veerai, who lose their bulls named Karuppan and Vellaiyan.
Almost like the couple’s children, Kunnimuthu and his friend Manthinni set out in search of their cattle. Through their search, they meet Narmatha, a reporter who offers to help them. The village should develop amidst the storm of conflicts and the search for the missing bulls should continue.
Sunny (Malayalam) – 23 September
The story centers on a single character named Sunny (Jayasuriya), who has lost everything he has earned in his life: his love, his money and his best friend. Shattered and frustrated, he is smuggled back from Dubai to Kerala in the midst of a global pandemic and isolates himself from society. Deeply caught in an emotional turmoil and slowly and slowly killing himself, Sunny befriends a few curious strangers over the course of seven days, who change their perspective.
