New Porsche 911 GT3 RS launched in India for Rs 3.25 cr: What’s special about this street-legal race car – Times of India

Right after the global launch, Porsche Now the new 992 generation 911 GT3 RS sports car has been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 3.25 crore (ex-showroom). Porsche says the new version of the car draws inspiration from the Le Mans class-winning 911 RSR as well as the motorsport-focused 911 GT3 R.
Beyond the high-revving naturally aspirated engine, which the German luxury and sports car maker says is “with racing DNA and intelligent lightweight construction,” it’s the 911 GT3 RS’s cooling and aerodynamic system that links it most directly to the 911 GT3 R.
Speaking of the 911 GT3 RS’ design, the biggest highlight is the huge goose-neck-supported rear wing, which consists of a fixed main wing and an upper, hydraulically adjustable wing element. Note, this is the first time on a Porsche production vehicle that the top edge of the rear wing is higher than the roof of the car!

The car uses a large, angled center radiator that is placed in its nose, where the luggage compartment is located on other 911 models. It also makes it possible for the manufacturer to use the free space on the sides to integrate active aerodynamic elements.
Porsche says that continuously adjustable wing elements in the front and spacious two-part rear wing, in combination with other aerodynamic measures, provide 409 kg of total downforce at 200 km/h. This means that the 911 GT3 RS is capable of generating twice as much downforce as the previous model and three times more downforce than the current 911 GT3. At 285 km/h, the total downforce is 860 kgf.

In addition, the 911 GT3 RS gets a Drag Reduction System (DRS), making it the first production Porsche car ever to receive it. To achieve low drag and high speeds on straight sections of track, the DRS allows the wings to be flattened at the push of a button, within a specific operating range.
The new 911 GT3 RS is powered by the same high-revving 4-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, but produces more horsepower. Thanks to the new camshafts with revised cam profiles, the overall power output has been increased to 525 PS. Transmission duties are handled by a 7-speed PDK automatic gearbox. Porsche claims that the 2023 911 GT3 RS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 296 km/h.

The new 911 GT3 RS is available at no additional cost with the ClubSport package, which includes a steel rollover bar, a handheld fire extinguisher and six-point seat belts for the driver. The WeSach package, which is available at an additional cost, adds a carbon-weave finish to the upper shell of the front lid, roof, rear wing parts and exterior mirrors.
In addition, the front and rear anti-roll bars, rear coupling rods and shear panels on the rear axle are made of CFRP and contribute to further enhancement of driving dynamics. The rollover bar manufactured for the first time from CFRP saves about 6 kg compared to the steel version. The WeSach package also gets PDK shift pedals with motorsport-derived magnet technology, which Porsche says makes gear changes even more dynamic. Optionally available with the Visach package are magnesium forged wheels, which save another 8 kilograms.
