While no specifics have been revealed about the new-gen Mustang yet, Farley has confirmed that it will continue to be offered with a manual transmission. The MT gearbox will likely be a 6-speed unit, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission – just like the outgoing model.
The Mustang is expected to get a slightly redesigned design but retain its muscular appeal. Spy shots of the 7th generation Mustang reveal that it will feature a more sculpted design, sharper looking headlights with a new triple LED DRL setup, a redesigned front grille, new tail lamps, and so on .
Top-of-the-line Ford Mustang GT Will likely still be offered with a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine. The current power and torque outputs of this powertrain are 450 PS and 556 Nm respectively, however, we can see a bump in those figures as well. Other variants may use a hybrid powertrain, which is mated to a four-cylinder engine. However, more details are expected to be revealed closer to the debut of the seventh-gen Mustang.
