Yamaha will introduce a new offering with ‘R-DNA’ on September 21, 2021, which could be the new YZF-R15M that was recently spotted testing.

Yamaha Motor India has shared an invite with the media for a new offering with ‘R-DNA’. Though the company hasn’t explicitly named the model, we believe the launch event could be for the update. YZF-R15 V3.0 And it will be launched on September 21, 2021. Speculations suggest that this could be the new R15M variant, which is inspired by the litre-class R1M. The recent spy shots of the motorcycle add to the excitement as there will be a lot of new additions to the upcoming offering.

Yamaha R15M was recently spotted at a dealership
The leaked images have revealed a new face for the Yamaha R15M. This includes a single LED projector headlamp at the centre, which replaces the twin headlamp setup. The new design is inspired by the larger YZF-R7, and the headlamp unit also gets brighter LED DRLs on either side. The fairing has also been redone which gives a bigger look to the bike.
However, a major update is expected on the new R15M instead of the telescopic units seen on the standard model. The engine specifications have also been revealed from the leaked documents and the new R15M will make 18.1 bhp from the same 155 cc single-cylinder engine. The power output is actually less than the standard R15 which churns out 18.3 bhp on tap.

Other cycle parts are likely to be carried over the model including a 6-speed gearbox, assist and slipper clutch, rear monoshock, disc brakes, dual-channel ABS and more. The LCD instrument console can now also get Bluetooth connectivity. No word yet on pricing, but the new R15M could earn a premium over the standard variant which retails at ₹1.58 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new R15M will be targeted at select customers who want to extract performance. More details will be available in a few days.
