The year 2019 was first hit by the coronavirus pandemic that was detected in China, resulting in infections, hospitalizations and millions of deaths worldwide.

The coronavirus, first detected two years ago and declared a global pandemic in March 2020, has killed more than 5.4 million people, sparked economic crises and saw societies in and out of lockdown.

The latest version, Omicron, while temporarily thought to cause minor illness, has pushed infection levels in the United States, Britain, France and other European countries to record levels in recent days, prompting governments to lift restrictions. Was forced to apply again.

Many cities around the world have banned New Year’s celebrations in view of the fast-spreading Omicron variant in different parts of the world.
