New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor announced his retirement from international cricket on 30 December on Twitter. The upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh and six ODIs against Australia and Netherlands will be his last appearance for the team. Taylor has served for 17 years while playing for New Zealand. The 37-year-old right-handed batsman made his debut in 2006 and went on to become one of the highest run-getters for New Zealand. Taylor tweeted, ‘Today I announce my retirement from international cricket at the end of the domestic summer. Two more Tests against Bangladesh and six ODIs against Australia and the Netherlands. Thank you for the incredible support of 17 years. It is an honor to represent our country.”
