New Zealand vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test, Day 1 at Hagley Oval, Christchurch Live Cricket Score

New Zealand vs Bangladesh, 2nd Test, Day 1 Live Score: Tom Latham and Will Young gave New Zealand a strong start in the second Test against Bangladesh on Sunday as they went to lunch on 92 for no loss in Christchurch.

Bangladesh, one in the two-Test series, won the toss and put New Zealand to bat on the green.

But pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shorful Islam were unable to produce any meaningful seam and swing movement, allowing Latham and Young to take an aggressive approach.

Latham was on 66 at lunch while Young was on 26 after two fifties in the first Test.

Latham, who was disappointed with another 14 in the first Test, hit 11 fours in his 23rd Test half-century, including a clever cut at the slips cordon, which led to a partnership of 50.

He was dismissed lbw twice in an over by Abadot Hossain, and the decision was overturned both times with replays showing that the ball may have missed the stumps.

New Zealand have made only one change to their line-up with Daryl Mitchell providing the fifth fast bowler from Rachin Ravindra in place of the all-rounder.

Bangladesh have stuck to the same three fast bowlers since the first Test and have opted to replace the injured Mushfiqur Rahim with Nurul Hasan, who has taken over the wicketkeeping duties.

In the second change for Bangladesh, Mohammad Naeem came in for injured opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy.
