Next-gen Mercedes-Benz GLC to debut on June 1, 2022

Mercedes-Benz will unveil the new GLC on June 1, 2022. based on the same platform New C-ClassThe new GLC is also expected to increase in size over the outgoing model, with the teaser revealing some design changes to the new-gen model. The teaser reveals a part of the SUV’s previous styling which includes the tail-lamps with LED elements, prominent hunch and a portion of the window line almost showing the C-Class. As per the previous images of the test mules, the new GLC gets a more straight nose, which houses sleek headlamps with LED DRLs that look as familiar as the design. The sides have prominent creases on the front and rear fenders. Overall, the design of the GLC stands out as an evolution of the existing model with elements borrowed from the new C-Class.

Mercedes has said the new GLC will be packed with technology, including a “fully digitized cockpit” and “extensive standard equipment”. As per previous spy shots, the cabin is expected to share a lot with the new C-Class, including a familiar S-Class inspired with MBUX, connected car tech and a large central touchscreen with Mercedes’ voice assistant and digital dials Dashboard included.

The GLC is currently the best selling SUV from Mercedes in India.

Mercedes has also confirmed that the new GLC will be powered by a line-up of electrified engine options including a plug-in hybrid with an all-electric driving range of over 100km. It is safe to expect that the new GLC will share the same engine as the C-Class in the global markets, although some reports suggest that the GLC may get a larger six-cylinder engine option, unlike the sedan.
