Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered their first win of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets. Sri Lankan leg-spinner and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga took four wickets and was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his scintillating bowling, as KKR were bowled out for 128 in a disappointing batting effort.

Living on his Rs 10.75 crore price tag, he picked up four wickets from Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson and Tim Southee, conceding only 20 runs and won praise from all quarters and also claimed the Purple Cap. During the post-match celebration, he also revealed the reason behind the unique celebration. The Sri Lankan international then spoke about his celebration which is inspired by Paris Saint-Germain FC superstar Neymar Jr.

Talking about the game he said, “Critical situation, I got out after scoring just four runs. I am really happy. It is very tough to bowl especially with dew. My favorite footballer is Neymar and he celebrates that.” It’s what I do. When I go to play, I don’t take any pressure.
