Nikki Yadav murder case | Delhi court extends judicial custody of all six accused by 14 days

A Delhi court on Monday extended the judicial custody of all six accused in the Nikki Yadav murder case by 14 days.

The main accused, Sahil Gehlot, was arrested on February 14 and confessed to strangling Nikki near Nigam Bodh Ghat, Kashmere Gate, on the intervening night of February 9 and 10. Police said the accused committed the crime in Ashish’s car and then called the co-accused for help. They met Gehlot near Paschim Vihar and went to his dhaba (Restaurant) in Mitraon village of South-West Delhi.

On February 22, a metropolitan court in New Delhi sent Sahil Gehlot to judicial custody for 12 days.

The accused kept Nikki’s body in the fridge and left Ashish’s car there. dhaba, After this, he reached Gehlot’s house in his car. A senior police officer said that the main accused told his father about the crime, but he was asked to marry on February 10.

On February 18, 2023, the Delhi Police arrested five people for conspiring to shield Gehlot in the murder of his 23-year-old accomplice Nikki Yadav. A metropolitan court had sent the accused to police custody for three days.

Police said that Nikki and Gehlot were married in 2020 and their marriage certificate has been recovered. Police said Gehlot allegedly strangulated Nikki to death as the accused’s family was not happy with the alliance and had fixed his marriage with another woman.
