Nine children killed in village fire in Pakistan’s Sindh province – Times of India

Karachi: At least nine children killed and 20 others seriously injured fire Dadu got washed away in a village in the district Pakistan‘s Sindh Province Eyewitnesses said it turned houses into rubble and destroyed livestock.
According to eyewitnesses, the tragic incident took place at 9 pm on Monday after a fire allegedly broke out in the kitchen of a hut in Faiz Mohammad Daryani Chandio village.
Due to the scorching heat, the fire took a formidable form in no time, leaving all 50 houses in the village under rubble, and at least 20 others seriously injured. More than 160 livestock also died in this fire.
Villagers alleged that despite repeated calls, no fire officer reached even after 12 hours of dousing the fire.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah On Thursday said an investigation was being conducted to find out the slow response of fire service officials and vowed to punish whoever is responsible for the incident.
Shah also promised compensation to the villagers who had lost their homes and livestock due to the fire.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Said that the central government would take steps to provide relief to the families of the victims.
Sharif asked Shah to submit a comprehensive report, including a copy of the FIR, the cause of the fire and the loss of life and property and livestock.
