National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal will offer a fully funded two-year post-doctoral fellowship program for PhD holders in the field of research. A total of 10 eligible candidates with strong research background will be selected for this fellowship programme.
Candidates will be selected through written test and interview at department and institute level. Selected candidates will be given a monthly fellowship of Rs 50,000 and a contingency amount of Rs 30,000 annually. The institute has started accepting applications for the same on its official portal www.nitk.ac.in. The last date to apply is 26 October.
Talking about the programme, NITK Surathkal Director K Umamaheswara Rao told a leading newspaper that this program will help young minds to do research in their area of expertise and also help them to expand their professional training .
He also said that the institute wants to take its level to another level through this program. He is quoted as saying, “Reached 10th among engineering institutions in the Institute Rankings and 32nd in the overall rankings in the National Institute Ranking Framework 2022.”
Candidates willing to apply for NITK Surathkal Post-Doc Fellowship Program have to go through detailed eligibility criteria and selection process. It is mandatory to have obtained a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree (eg, D.Sc) within the last five years in the relevant field. Applicants should note that their PhD viva must have been completed or issued a provisional degree certificate on or before the date of submission of application.
Applicants will be shortlisted for written test/interview conducted by Departmental Post-Doctoral Selection Committee (DPDSC) followed by IPDSC (Institutional Level Post-Doctoral Selection Committee).
