Niva Bupa health insurance will provide affordable cancer plan

Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited (earlier known as Max Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited) on Tuesday announced a customized group plan for comprehensive coverage of cancer treatment at just annual premium. 1499, plus tax. This group insurance plan is designed for low and middle income families and covers not only hospitalization but also day-care expenses like radiation, chemotherapy etc. It offers family floater plans. The cancer scheme will be especially beneficial for the lower socio-economic strata of the society and will enable the customers to avail cashless treatment at 8000+ network hospitals empaneled with Niva Bupa. This will provide the much-needed financial shield against cancer treatment as well as increase the reach of health insurance in India.

According to the Niva Bupa press release, over the years, the incidence of cancer has increased, and it is estimated that by 2025, there will be around 15.7 lakh cases in India, an increase of about 13% in half a decade. While state-of-the-art treatment is available in India, it is expensive and many families who are neither covered under any government scheme nor have any private health insurance cover, have to bear the medical expenses out of their own pocket, leading to financial stress. .
