No Covid-19 fatalities in Pune Municipal Corporation limits since last eight days. Pune News – Times of India

PUNE: The Pune municipal limits did not record any Covid-related fatalities for the eighth straight day on Tuesday. Overall in December so far, PMC areas did not report any casualty in 15 days.
An official of PMC’s health department said, ‘We expect similar trend to continue. The number of critical patients and those on oxygen support has also remained below 100 for the past few weeks. We are monitoring the cases daily.”

Sanjeev Vavre, assistant medical chief, PMC’s health department, said, “Despite the decline in daily deaths, we have continued close surveillance of cases and contact tracing. Early detection is important so we have appealed to citizens to avoid symptoms. There has been no increase in deaths since November.”
PMC also reported zero Covid deaths on 20 October. In the last two months, PMC areas did not report any Covid death in 34 days.
Besides this, a report by District Health Officer Bhagwan Pawar said that one patient died due to infection in rural areas of Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Tuesday. With this, 19,224 Kovid deaths have been reported in the region so far.
202 people tested positive COVID-19 As against 228 recoveries in the region in the last 24 hours. Daily cases in PMC limits rose to 95 on Tuesday, followed by PCMC limits
(56) and rural part (51).
The region’s cumulative tally of positive cases has risen to above 11.61 lakh, while its recoveries are above 11.40 lakh.
On Tuesday, 11,409 samples were tested in the area. These included 4,543 tests from PMC limits, 4,089 from PCMC areas and 2,777 samples from rural and cantonment areas.
The number of active cases in the region has reached 1,827.
