No holiday for UP Police personnel till May 4 in view of festivals

The Uttar Pradesh government has canceled the leave of all police personnel in the state till May 4 and asked those on leave to report within 24 hours.

The Uttar Pradesh government has canceled the leave of all police personnel in the state till May 4. Those who are on leave have been asked to report within 24 hours.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has passed these orders in view of the festivals in the coming days. He also directed officers from police station to ADG level to communicate with religious leaders and eminent personalities within the next 24 hours to ensure peace during the upcoming festivals.

“The leave of all administrative/police officers, from SHOs, COs and District Police Chiefs to District Magistrates, Divisional Commissioners is hereby canceled with immediate effect till May 4. Those who are presently on leave will have to return to their place of posting within the next 24 hours.”

Further orders include deployment of additional police forces in sensitive areas, foot patrolling and use of drones to monitor the situation. Police Response Vehicles (PRVs) have been directed to remain active.
