No one can destroy AIADMK: Edappadi K Palaniswami

AIADMK interim general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday accused Chief Minister MK Stalin of trying to dismantle the AIADMK and said that no one can uproot the outfit as it is a party with huge support.

Speaking at a meeting at the party office in Kallakurichi, Mr Palaniswami said that the party can never be demolished even by ‘Stalins’. There is no dynasty politics in AIADMK, which is the identity of DMK, he said.

“As far as I am concerned, I have risen from humble beginnings to the rank of interim general secretary after serving the party. AIADMK does not promote lineage, which is a disturbing feature of DMK. Only an ordinary cadre in AIADMK can become an interim general secretary. On the other hand, this was not possible in DMK as it was only promoting dynastic politics.

When Mr Vaiko left the DMK, AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, who was then serving as Chief Minister, acted in support of the DMK and ensured that Anna Arivayalam, the party headquarters, was saved. However, the current chief minister is working in support of expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam, Mr Palaniswami alleged.

Referring to the steps taken during his tenure as chief minister to do away with online rummy, he said that the DMK did not make an effective argument in court in favor of the ban, and said that online rummy would have to cost his life and property. was troubling the youth who lost “We are urging the government to bring a law to ban the game,” he said.
