‘No worries, UPI autopay in India…’: NPCI MD’s reply to Elon Musk – inside details

New Delhi: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has announced to charge Twitter users $8 for blue ticks. The announcement has sparked debate with several prominent people criticizing the move. However, National Payments of Corporation (NPCI) Managing Director Dilip Asbe reacted unexpectedly on Elon Musk’s Twitter saying that UPI Autopay is ready to take care of monthly payments of Indian Twitter users.

Earlier, Elon Musk attacked all the complainants who were criticizing Musk’s move to charge $8 for blue ticks from Twitter users. He addressed the complainants and wrote that please keep complaining, but it will cost $8.

NPCI Managing Director replied to Musk’s tweet, “No worries, there are UPI Autopay in India (7 Million New Approved Collection Orders/Month) to collect all the time/month/quarter or yearly as you wish. Is for.”

He further tagged Twitter as well.

Explaining the purpose of charging Twitter users for blue ticks, he said that the amount earned from blue tick charges will generate revenue for Twitter so that they can reward content creators. Like YouTube, Twitter will also become a platform to offer monetary rewards to content creators.

In another tweet, Musk said the paywall could be bypassed for publishers who are willing to work with us. Significantly, Musk bought Twitter last week at a price of $ 54.25 per share.
