Noida: One person was killed and six were injured when a cab rammed into several vehicles near a busy market in Noida. The police gave this information on Wednesday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Ranvijay Singh said that the suspected cab driver, who was in an inebriated state at the time of the incident late on Tuesday, has been arrested.
“The local police reached the spot after getting information about a cab hitting a car and then a two-wheeler near Parthala Bazar in Noida Sector 113 police station area,” Singh said.
“A total of seven people were found injured and all of them were hospitalised. One of the injured has died due to injuries while the rest are undergoing treatment,” the official said.
He said the guilty driver has been arrested and sent for medical examination as he was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
He said that the cab, Maruti Ertiga, has also been seized and further legal proceedings are on in the matter.
