Noida Twin Tower demolition: CBRI approves misappropriation of explosives

Noida The final approval for the demolition of the twin towers of Noida’s Supertech was given by the Supreme Court-appointed technical expert of the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI). According to officials, the expert has cleared the process of manipulating the twin towers with explosives to destroy the structure.

This final approval was necessary before demolition scheduled for 21 August. CBRI approval It was needed for charging explosives inside the twin towers structure located in Sector 93B of Noida.

The Supreme Court had on August 6 directed Supertech to provide all the information sought by CBRI regarding structural audit of buildings adjacent to the twin towers, which are to be demolished.

The illegal structure, about 100 meters long, is yet to be demolished on August 21 at 2.30 pm.

However, it appears that the date of demolition will be postponed as the charging process will take around a fortnight.

“CBRI has given its approval to demolition firm Edphis Engineering to go ahead with the charging process,” a Noida Authority official, requesting anonymity, said.

“The CBRI We were satisfied with the responses regarding safety measures after Edifice and Supertech agreed to conduct a structural audit of the adjoining buildings before demolition of the twin towers,” the official said.

Supertech & Edifice has assured CBRI of taking all safety and risk mitigation measures at Emerald Court and ATS Village societies adjoining the twin towers, the official said.

According to the official, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the Twin Tower demolition case on Friday, after which the charging process is likely to begin.
